Sponsored walk update

A big thank you to all our supporters and volunteers for the effort they put into making the walk and the cafe a success!

We have raised £1015 so far and there is still some sponsorship money to come in!

The weather was excellent for our annual fund-raising walk from Hebden Bridge and we had a great day out. Though numbers of walkers were lower than in previous years, we have received sponsorship from some supporters who were not able to join us on the day. Some of our volunteers ran a cafe from 9 am at the Hope Baptist Church, selling home-made cakes and drinks, which raised £182.50. The cafe helped in providing a congenial start and end for the walk, and giving a bit of extra Oxfam visibility to members of the public.

Walkers really enjoyed the walk and the cafe. Some of their comments are below:

“I enjoyed the walk, the area was really nice and the cakes were tasty.”
“I really enjoyed the walk. It was one of the best walks I’ve done recently.”

At the top of the page there is a slideshow of 20+ pictures taken on the day.

Our next event is “Lift Lives for Good” – A sponsored abseil down Leeds University’s Parkinson Building, one of Leeds’ most iconic buildings.
